Trade Connections
Promoting Trade Between Malawi and Scotland
Building on the robust links between Malawi and Scotland, initiated by David Livingstone amonst others, Trade Connections aims to boost the economic relationship between the two countries, both in terms of trade and investment.
Trade Connections has been created at the request of the Malawi National Working Group on Trade Policy (NWGTP), a joint public private body in Malawi and is being run by Imani Development (Scotland and Malawi). The project has is financed and supported by the Scottish Government.
On the 1st of November, almost two years to the day since Malawi and Scotland signed their historic cooperation agreement 23 Malawian companies exhibited their products at the SECC in Glasgow. The response was fantastic, and a number of deals are currently under negotiation.
